中国・ハルビンの動物園で、珍しいスノータイガーの5つ子が誕生した。お母さんのそばで、あくびをしているのは、スノータイガーの赤ちゃん。スノータイガーは、ベンガルトラの仲間だが、トラの黄色の部分がすべて真っ白で、非常に珍しい種類。中国の古代の神話で「縁起が良い」とされるスノータイガー。動物園では、母子ともに栄養のある食事を与え、大切に飼育していくと話している。
