The American woman is Grace Mishler, disability social worker and longtime Vietnam humanitarian; the man to her right is Mr. Loc, the director of the YMCA; the three cutie girls are YMCA employees, the youngest girld, standing, is An Nhien, my translator and assistant for the summer and a total gem; the man to my left is Tran Ba Thien, disability activist and longtime associate of Grace. He was blinded about 13 years ago by an American land mine buried in the sand on a Vietnamese beach left over from the war. He was on holiday from college.
