Public Record Examining the judicial appointment process in QuebecOn February 23th, 2011, in Montreal, a panel discussion was organized entitled “What should be done after the Bastarache Commission? Examining the judicial appointment process in Quebec.”The panel examined the impact of the commission on the process of the nomination of judges in Quebec and featured Pierre Noreau (a professor at the Université de Montréal ‘s Faculty of Law), Pierre Michaud, (former Chief Justice of the Quebec Court of Appeal), Yves Boisvert (a reporter with La Presse), Louis Bernard (President of Louis Bernard Consultant inc.), Gilles Ouimet (President of the Quebec Bar) and Sylvie Champagne (Secretary of the Quebec Bar).
