Scrums Liberal MP Dominic LeBlanc and Bloc Québécois leader Gilles Duceppe spoke to reporters about the government’s bill that would allow Canada to freeze the assets of corrupt foreign regimes. LeBlanc and Duceppe, along with NDP MPs Pat Martin and Yvon Godin and Veterans Affairs Minister Jean-Pierre Blackburn, commented on the fundraising letter that was sent from Immigration Minister Jason Kenney’s office on government letterhead. The letter had been mistakenly sent to NDP MP Linda Duncan. Conservative MP Steven Blaney was asked to explain his remarks about the “leftists” in Montreal’s Plateau-Mont-Royal area.
