Market Movers: July 11, 2011
Equity futures are pointing lower this morning with the Dow Jones Industrial Average looking to open 124 points lower while the broader S&P500 index is looking to open 18 points lower. Moving fast in the pre-market session are shares of Arch Chemicals (NYSE:ARJ) up 11% on news that it agreed to buy Lonza Group in a cash transaction valued at $1.4 billion. Shares of Credit Suisse (NYSE:CS) are down over 2%; BHP Billiton (NYSE:BHP) down over 2%; Advanced Micro Devices (NYSE:AMD) down over 3% after the company was downgraded to underperform at JMP Securities; Banco Santander (NYSE:STD) and BBVA (NASDAQ:BBVA) are both down over 5% after both companies were downgraded at Bernstein on Friday. Finally, ING (NYSE:ING) is down 7%.
