大相撲初場所を6場所連続優勝で飾った横綱・白鵬、一夜明け喜びの会見
大相撲初場所を6場所連続優勝で飾った横綱・白鵬が、一夜明けた24日、喜びの会見を行った。白鵬は「何となく、6場所連続優勝したんだなと、実感しております」と話した。初場所で史上3人目となる偉大な記録、6場所連続優勝に並んだ白鵬。優勝が決まった翌日には、3人目の子どもが生まれるなど、公私ともに充実したスタートとなった。来場所、朝青龍の史上最多となる7場所連続優勝を目指す。白鵬は「けいこもしっかりと精進してやれば、(7場所連続優勝は)大丈夫じゃないかなと思っています」と話した。
