Southside Johnny - The Fever 1985
Formed in 1974, Southside Johnny & The Asbury Jukes came out of the same New Jersey bar club scene as his now legendary contemporary and friend Bruce Springsteen. Like him, Southside Johnny was inspired by the classic R&B and Rock & Roll sounds of the Fifties and Sixties and fronts a dynamic and rocking big band famous for its spectacular live performances. One of these was this 1985 concert vividly captured in Germany. In it Southside Johnny delivers a blinding set consisting of such stage favourites as 'I Don’t Want To Go Home', 'Love On The Wrong Side Of Town' and two memorable Springsteen-penned numbers, 'Talk To Me' and 'The Fever'. Southside Johnny is highly-respected in both blues and rock circles and has built a loyal and substantial following over the years with his frequent touring.
