Mentoring programs may see improvements
A new plan by Governor Sebelius may benefit local mentoring programs in Lawrence. These programs can look forward to a boost in funding from a mentoring program called Kansas Mentors. Governor Sebelius unveiled the program in January with the hopes of improving existing mentoring programs. Boys and Girls Club Executive Director Janet Murphy said that the program identifies flaws that need to be fixed, such as the number of mentoring relationships.
