Migrant Workers in UAE Refused Assistance
(Al Jazeera English News Headlines: August 5, 2010) Relief to flood victims in Pakistan is gathering momentum as army helicopters continue making deliveries; over 4 million people have been affected by the flood. In Kenya, the ruling coalition has welcomed the 'yes' vote on creating a new constitution, which will potentially curb the powers of the president and try to reduce corruption. The Ministry of Labour in the United Arab Emirates is refusing to assist a camp of stranded migrant workers, who are allegedly owed ten month’s pay. However, many workers are still seeking employment in the gulf countries, despite such reported hardships.
