TV Shows to Videogames
Of the many video games we see get released every year, none make me chuckle more than when I get to see some network TV show get turned into an inevitably crappy video game. Of course that’s not to say there haven't been any TV show video games that were actually good, there just aren't that many. So let's take a look back on some examples, and figure out why this formula never quite seems to work. South Park! ... as a first person shooter. Survivor! ... the videogame. Jackass: the videogame, Dancing with the Stars! The videogame. Something's not right with this formula, and most of the time's there's one big reason for how terrible some of these games are. We live in a commercial world, and nothing talks more than money. TV shows that have become cash cows for their respective networks always have the extra appeal that they could make a little more money as a movie or in these unfortunate cases, videogames. The production design and quality isn't high, there's not much artistically to marvel at either, and in the end you just have a game that's pretty... well, mediocre. Now that I think about it.. I can't come up with too many great TV shows that have made it into good movies. Oh wait! Hannah Montana: the movie. Quality.
