民協：應全面放寬生果金居港年期限制
有調查發現，近七成的受訪長者，贊成放寬生果金的離港限制。 民協在七月底進行一項問卷調查，成功訪問了368名長者。 結果顯示，7成受訪長者贊成放寬生果金申請資格，離港不可超過56日的限制，當中有六成表示應該不設限制，另外近四成五認為應放寬離港限制至240日。 民協發言人說，法庭之前裁定，一年最多56天的綜援離港限制，是違憲違法，他認為同一標準應套用於生果金制度上，又認為政府應順從民意，全面放寬申請高齡津貼需要居港滿1年的限制。
