The Making of SITE Santa Fe’s Fifth Biennial: Disparities & Deformations Our Grotesque
Celebrated invited curator Robert Storr discusses his fascination with the grotesque tradition in art and reveals why he chose specific paintings for the show including works by Louise Bourgeois, Jenny Saville, Kara Walker, Bruce Conner, Bruce Nauman, Susan Rothenberg, Tom Friedman, Sigmar Polke, Jasper Johns and others.  Director Lois Lipman also captures the creation of commissioned installations for the show entitled Disparities & Deformations: Our Grotesque. Storr was longtime Curator of Painting and Sculpture at the Museum of Modern Art, curated the 2007 Venice Biennale and is Professor of Modern Art at New York University. Storr is also a renown art critic and author.
