Surfers from around the world have gathered at Atlantic coast of France for the championship.These surfers are a mixture of both the young ones and those who have been doing it for years.  Dave Mailman, Head of Association of surfing professionals (ASP) Europe says "All the great past champions have been through Lacanau. And now that it’s a world qualifying series six star event, we have all the best up and coming champions of today and tomorrow who’ll come through Lacanau. So no Kelly Slater this year, but the Kelly Slaters of tomorrow are all here today."
