WEDDING ETIQUETTE FOR A DAY TIME CEREMONY
If you are throwing or attending a day time wedding followed by a night time, black tie required reception, what is the attire etiquette for the day time ceremony? Though old school rules dictate that guests should not break out the tuxedos until after the sun goes down, that’s not strictly true anymore. If you don't want to wear a regular suit during the day and change to a tux at night, you can just wear the tuxedo to both the wedding and reception, and nobody will bat an eye. But if you own both a nice suit and a tuxedo, or can afford to wear both, go for it. It's old fashioned, but it's still kind of classy and fun. And how often do you get to dress up in a suit and tie then change into a Jame Bond tuxedo in the same day? You are not required to switch these days, but if you want to go old school, go for it.
