Her first effort "Sona" was a runaway hit for a singer who had never backed up a film soundtrack. "Aaja Ve" has a bhangra beat, but a firmly Western arrangement that deepens the groove. The message is a flirtatious call for a meeting. But despite its seeming call for a tryst, like many of Mohapatra’s songs which take their inspiration from the Sufi repertoire, the lyric can support both secular and religious interpretations.
