Scrums NDP leader Jack Layton and Liberal leader Bob Rae spoke to reporters on issues such as the government’s plan to find $4 billion a year in spending cuts and the Stephen Harper hoax on the Conservative Party’s website. Hackers had posted a fake news story that the prime minister had choked while eating a hash brown at breakfast this morning and was rushed to the hospital. NDP Canadian Wheat Board critic Pat Martin responded to questions about decorum during Question Period. Speaker Andrew Scheer cut off the microphone for David Anderson, parliamentary secretary to the minister of the wheat board, during Anderson’s exchange with Martin today. Green Party leader Elizabeth May commented on the federal budget and on Scheer’s decision to cut off Anderson’s microphone.
