Utah has the 3rd seed to play for in this game and can only move to the second seed with a win over San Antonio and if the Hornets fall to the Clips and Mavericks to close the season. The Jazz must win to ensure home court in the first round because with a loss the Jazz would be on the road in the first round of the playoffs should Phoenix or Houston win their finale. Both Phoenix and Houston face playoff eliminated teams so the Jazz must win here. If San Antonio wins and claims a three seed they would most likely avoid the LA Lakers until the Western Conference Finals. Popovich used his reserves early in the game against Sacramento and no starter played 40 minutes or more. Manu Ginobili has missed his last 6 games and is a game time decision in this one. Should San Antonio lose this contest the Spurs would be on the road in the first round of the playoffs if both Phoenix and Houston win. This game has meaning. The Spurs have not played well defensively giving up over 50% shooting in three of their last four games. San Antonio was pounded by Utah 90-64 in their last meeting and looked dominating in victory limiting the Spurs to just 26 points in the second half.
