National News - Wal-Mart Pays for Register Errors
An Arkansas man is suing McDonalds after he left his cell phone at the local restaurant and an employee allegedly posted nude photos of his wife as well as personal contact information from the phone on the internet. Phillip Sherman said he was forced to move out of his home because of the obscene and harassing texts and phone calls. Also on the lawsuit is the manager of the McDonalds as well as the Mathews Management Company. The price on Sherman’s lawsuit menu is 3-million-bucks. A settlement was reached in a case involving Wal-Mart stores in California which reportedly had cash register errors. After investigation, the state Attorney General's office determined that when a register mis price occurs, the customer will be credited 3-dollars. This comes just less than a year after customers in Sacramento County were overcharged 2-dollars for woven shirts. And the woman who won 1-million bucks recently on a Fox game show declared bankruptcy. Kathy Cox, who reportedly earns 125-thousand-dollars annually, is the co-signer for her husband's home-building business which was reportedly doing just fine until the market collapse. A representative of Cox said the first-time-winner of 'Are you Smarter than a 5th Grader?' will follow through on her promise to donate her 1-million-dollar earnings to 2-schools for deaf children and 1-school for blind children.
