Over the course of his career, Dario Franchitti, who is married to Hollywood film star Ashley Judd, has had almost 200 starts between the CART and IndyCar Series resulting in 23 wins, 24 poles, 122 top-10 finishes (1997-2010). His list of achievements includes IndyCar Series champion 2007, 2008, 2010 and Indy 500 winner in 2007 and 2010. To mark his extraordinary achievements in motor racing the BRDC awarded him the Earl Howe trophy and a Special Gold Star. After receiving his awards he talked to Robert Miller about his championship winning year and the thrill of driving the late Jim Clark’s Lotus.
