Obviously you can’t tell how fast we're going, since it's in slow motion, but we were both going pretty fast and this kid got off pretty lucky really.  My board's nose has a perfect dent from the kid's scooter bar almost an inch deep, which could have been his shin. He was wearing a helmet which likely also helped since his face was introduced to my elbow and then promptly acquainted itself with the concrete.
