Crowds Fill Vancouver Streets After Game 2
iReport — With a second straight win in the 7 game Stanley Cup series it’s party time here in Vancouver once again as a well deserved Stanley Cup moves a little bit closer to a potential new home. The last time Vancouver witnessed a street party with massive outpourings of pride was during the very successful, 2010 Winter Olympics. Crowds in the tight downtown core were estimated at 70,000 and climbing as the night wore on. I was high fived by hundreds of thirsty and jubilant fans in many cases accompanied by clouds of that funny smoke. (this is Vancouver after all). As the night wore on the sound of siren's became increasingly common but the crowds seemed more intent on getting out of the night chill and into the bars and restaurants. After 40 years without a win it's safe to say most of the revelers had never experienced a Stanley Cup win, which would explain the excitement in the air tonight.
