They’ll discuss: The Afghan Documents: This week, in an historic decision, House of Commons Speaker Peter Milliken ruled the government must abide by a motion passed by the House of Commons and produce to Parliament uncensored documents concerning the transfer of detainees by Canadian Forces to Afghan authorities. He has given the government and opposition parties two weeks to reach an agreement which would respect concerns about national security and the legally sensitive nature of some of the documents. Is progress being made towards a solution acceptable to both the government and the opposition? What's at stake if negotiations fail? The Rahim Jaffer / Helena Guergis Controversy: On Wednesday, testifying before a Commons committee, businessman Nazim Gillani contradicted key elements of former Tory MP Rahim Jaffer's testimony last week concerning Mr. Jaffer's activities making representations to the government on business matters. What new questions does Mr. Gillani's testimony raise? How much more do we know about allegations Mr Jaffer and his company were engaged in improper lobbying? Are we any closer to understanding the reasons behind Helena Guergis's departure from cabinet and the Prime Minister's decision to expel her from the Conservative caucus? Abortion and Canada's G8 initiative on maternal & child health: The Harper government has now made it clear it will not fund any services concerning abortion as part of its G-8 initiative on maternal and child health.
