PrimeTime Politics Howard Sapers, the ombudsman for Canada’s correctional system, releases his final report on preventing prison deaths. Sapers’ first report stemmed from the 2007 suicide of teenager Ashley Smith while in detention. He says the Correctional Service of Canada still has not improved many of its procedures, especially for inmates with mental health issues.   Liberal MP Frank Valeriote calls on the government to extend Sunday’s deadline for matching individual donations towards Pakistan flood relief. The Liberals also want to send the Disaster Assistance Response Team (DART) to aid the humanitarian effort.
