Androulla Vassiliou (born 30 November 1943) is a Cypriot and European politician who is the European Commissioner for Health, confirmed by the European Council on 3 March 2008. EU Health Commissioner Androulla Vassiliou said closure of borders is not the solution for fighting the Swine flu virus. She also pointed certain priority groups which need to be given special attention like pregnant women, people with chronic illnesses & health professionals treating those affected.
