Italian Town Pushing for Miniskirt Ban
Officials from Castellammare di Stabia, a seaside town in Italy, are planning to ban miniskirts to "restore urban decorum and facilitate better civil co-existence," Mayor Luigi Bobbio told BBC.com.Mayor Bobbio, of the People of Freedom party, is pushing for a new policy where clothes are not "too revealing" to tame the "rowdy, unruly or simply bad behaved."Rule-breakers of the proposed dress code would face fines ranging from 25 euros to 500 euros.Sunbathing, playing football in public places and blasphemy would also be banned if the measure is taken into effect.Other locales in Italy have banned kissing in cars, building sandcastles, feeding stray cats, mowing the lawn on weekends and wooden clogs.
