Scrums Opposition critics Justin Trudeau (Liberal, immigration), Mark Holland (Liberal, public safety) and Olivia Chow (NDP, citizenship and immigration) reacted to the Conservative’s new legislation to crack down on human smuggling.NDP Leader Jack Layton commented on a number of issues, including the human smuggling legislation and the proposed takeover of Saskatchewan’s Potash Corporation.Industry Minister Tony Clement and Liberal Deputy Leader Ralph Goodale addressed the concerns over the Potash takeover. Bloc Québécois House Leader Pierre Paquette and Conservative MP Maxime Bernier responded to questions about the Bloc’s motion to limit federal spending power. Liberal Defence critic Dominic LeBlanc commented briefly on the shortage of search and rescue flight engineers.
