Aus heiterem Himmel gerät Laura Brennan unter Mordverdacht und wird von der Polizei verhaftet: Sie soll ihren Chef ermordet haben. Nur Lauras Mann John glaubt, dass seine Frau auf keinen Fall eine Mörderin ist. Als Laura zu 20 Jahren Haft verurteilt wird, bereitet John ihre Befreiung aus dem Gefängnis vor. Dabei darf nicht einmal Laura von der Aktion wissen, wenn sie wirklich gelingen soll.
