Bosnia: School of hope in Mostar
The United World College in Bosnia-Herzegovina is no ordinary school. Located in the center of the bombed-out city, it wants to promote peace though education.UWC has thirteen colleges and schools in former crisis regions worldwide. The remnants of war are still clearly visible in Mostar. At the college, the divided ethnic groups learn together, alongside students from 55 other nations. The school aims to promote integration. Once a week the students volunteer in a school for disabled children or a home for Sinti and Roma people.
