They’ll discuss: The Economy:This week Liberal Leader Michal Ignatieff announced a $1-billion plan to extend EI benefits and grants to Canadians caring for seriously ill family members. He says the money would come from $6 billion saved when the Liberals cancel the Harper government's planned corporate tax cuts.  Are we beginning to see a real debate now on Canada's economic options? A change in Tone? Have our journalists noticed any change in tone in Question Period in the three weeks since Parliament returned? Have economic issues displaced accusations of scandal as the top priority among our MPs? Veterans & Privacy:This week, Privacy Commissioner Jennifer Stoddard found that officials at the Department of Veterans Affairs had broken the law and repeatedly violated the privacy rights of retired captain Sean Bruyea when they circulated his private medical records. She is also conducting a larger, department-wide investigation. How serious is this matter? What about the reaction from the government? Also, Martin Stringer speaks with University of Ottawa economics professor and Vice-Dean of Research Miles Corak about Canada's jobless rate. In the recession - and now into the recovery - where were the jobs lost? Where are they being created? Who has suffered? How have government programs dealt with these trends? And what are the prospects for the future?And Martin speaks with NDP MP Charlie Angus, who on Friday tabled the NDP's promised private member's bill proposing changes to the long-gun registry. What changes do they envisage? Where will the parliamentary support for the bill come from? Will it heal the wounds created in the divisive and politically fractious debate over gun control?
