Congress, Public Question US Involvement in Libya
President Barack Obama’s decision to use military force in Libya, as part of an international coalition to protect civilians, is drawing a mixed response in Congress and among the American public. The latest Quinnipiac University opinion poll found Americans opposed to military involvement in Libya by a margin of 47 to 41 percent, even though 65 percent in the same poll favored the use of airstrikes to protect Libyan civilians.
