Carpal Tunnel Syndrome
When Sharon Bosse arrived at a Uganda mission, her right hand was already weak. Peeling hundreds of potatoes left her hand tingling and numb – signs of carpal tunnel syndrome. The disorder often stems from repetitive motions such as typing or operating a cash register. Seeking surgery, Bosse turned to Dr. Nicholas Vedder at Harborview Medical Center. He performed the minimally invasive procedure that made her hand useful again. To view the full Inside Access program, go to Inside Access: Hand and Microsurgery Team.
