Anger Rises in Pakistan Over Lack of Aid
(Al Jazeera English News Headlines: August 18, 2010) Angry and frustrated Pakistanis are protesting the lack of aid in the aftermath of disastrous flooding throughout the country. The relief effort has been hampered by lack of access, information, and money. In Afghanistan, many polling stations will remain closed in next month’s elections due to security concerns. In northern India a school has collapsed after heavy monsoon rains, killing at least 17 children. Over one million public sector workers, frustrated over low pay and perceived government corruption, are going on strike in South Africa.
