Attorney General of Canada, et al. - February 17, 2011Case #33581The Lax Kw'alaams Indian Band claims it has an aboriginal right to fish commercially within specified sites located on the north coast of British Columbia. It commenced proceedings in 2002 on this action. The band is made up of approximately 3,000 members, the majority of whom live on a reserve located about 30 kilometres north of the fishing town of Prince Rupert.
