(CIT): The 2002 Joseph Leiter National Library of Medicine (NLM)/MLA Lecture will be presented by Francis S. Collins, M.D., Ph.D., director of the National Human Genome Research Institute, National Institutes of Health. The lecture will summarize the progress of the human genome project and forecast how it will lead to dramatic improvements in medical diagnostics and therapeutics over the next decades. He will also discuss the ethical, legal, and social implications of these rapid advances. Co-sponsored by the NIH National Library of Medicine (NLM) and the Medical Library Association (MLA).
