BMW has unveiled the X1, the newest member of its X-family of off-road fleet. Immediately recognizable as a BMW, the X1 comes with either a gasoline engine or one of three diesels and in all-wheel drive or rear-wheel drive versions. Fuel-saving features like automatic stop-start, shifting cues and regenerative braking help make the X1 especially efficient. The smallest diesel needs just 5.2 liters for 100 kilometers. Prices in Germany start at 27,200 euros.
