Kunjarani wins first gold for India
Lifter Kunjarani Devi won the first gold medal for India at the 18th Commonwealth Games in Melbourne on Thursday. She took the medal in the women’s 48 kg weightlifting event. Kunjarani lifted an overall 166 kg, which included 72 kg in snatch and 94 kg in clean and jerk at the Melbourne Exhibition Centre.
