iReport — Social media has allowed me to not just stay in touch people I wouldn’t have stayed in touch with otherwise, but meet people who share similar interests and values as myself from all around the world. While in the states, our use of social media may often be casual, in many countries such as those undergoing massive social and political revolutions, tools like Facebook and Twitter are physically changing the landscape of entire nations and governments - enpowering people to stand up for the causes they believe in and organize in ways that would have previously been impossible. In that respect, social media is not only fun and cool, but is a source of inspiration for the real changes people can make in this world when they organize and rally behind a cause.
