「得閒飲茶」，似乎早已變成香港人自古以來的口頭禪，上茶樓喝茶，再嘆一盅兩件，不同年齡的人士都一樣喜愛。原來，茶樓和酒樓在50年代前是有分別的，茶樓專攻早茶和午飯；而酒樓就只會供應晚飯飲宴，直至50年代以後，兩者才開始共冶一爐，讓市民無時無刻也可以飲啖茶！ 舊式的茶樓仍然維持傳統風味，用焗盅沖茶，雞球大包、豬膶燒賣仍然有售，數十年歷史的古老餐桌，每樣東西都是幾代人的回憶。 新式的高級酒家，裝修華麗，點心款式又多又花巧，既保留傳統的中國菜特色，也同時創出很多新派煮法，與時並進，帶領飲茶文化繼續向前發展。
