切、吊球是指對手回擊高遠球時，把球從後場回擊至對手的前場區，前發球線附近. 作用是調動對方，製造空位，配合戰術及攻擊。 切、吊球可分為快和慢兩種。分別在於快切、吊球速較快,但落點則較遠。而慢切、吊則相反,球速較慢，落點則較貼近網前。 切、吊球可分為上手正手切、吊球,上手反手切、吊球球及頭頂切、吊球，羽球的上手切、吊球球擊球動作可分為準備姿勢、預備擊球動作(引拍動作)、轉身動作、擊球動作、跟進動作、擊球點等。
