June 2: Bonds shut up shop
The corporate bond market for new issuance has been battered by the general market volatility of the last month, virtually shutting up shop until the uncertainty fades. So far, this hasn’t caused companies too much pain. But as Jennifer Hughes, senior markets correspondent, says, the health of new issuance - or the lack of it - is another indicator of potential market strain for investors to keep an eye on.
