September used to be the month all the biggest stars in music would come together for the MTV Video Music Awards. The music channel, and the 25th Anniversary of its heralded awards show, took the back seat to much more noteworthy event--Fashion Rocks.  Fashion Rocks emerged as a collaborative effort by Hollywood’s most popular celebritiess to raise funds for cancer research. We saw actors, athletes, models, musicians...anybody and everybody with a heart leaped at the chance to get involved. Cancer does not see gender, race or religion. Cancer doesn't categorize its victims into rock, rap or country listeners. This is exactly why performers from all walks of life came together to ask us all to help in the fight. By putting together the show on national TV, the stars were able to unite by asking the viewers to donate funds for more research against the deadly disease. At the show's conclusion, a star studded ensemble performed a song written by Kenny Babyface Edmonds and L.A. Reid. From Fergie to Beyonce to Mary J. Blige, Mariah Carey and Miley Cyrus the stage was blessed with loads of talent. In a "we are the world" type fashion, Fashion Rocks did just that!
