Robin Family - From Eggs to Empty Nest
Begins with four still images, the rest is video clips. On May 15, 2011, my aunt noticed a robin’s nest right outside her window in a rhododendron bush with four perfect eggs nestled in it. She started documenting it every day and shared her videos in emails. This is a video I made of the best clips she sent. We watched every day as the mother and father robin fed and cared for the chicks, until finally on June 1, they flew away one by one. The final few shots are the last two chicks leaving the nest, and then the empty nest. We learned a lot about robins in the process and really loved watching these babies grow!! Such a great experience and it was bittersweet watching the last chick finally gain the courage to leave home.
