The USC 124th Annual Commencement with Address by Ted Koppel
The USC 124th Commencement was held on the USC campus on the morning of Friday, May 11, 2007, with approximately 40,000 parents, family, and friends in attendance. The main Commencement address was delivered by Mr. Ted Koppel, an award-winning journalist, as this year’s commencement speaker. A member of the Broadcasting Hall of Fame, he is the managing editor of the Discovery Channel, where he produces programs on global topics. He previously was the anchor and managing editor for 25 years of ABC News' Nightline, a news program that was launched in 1980. An ABC News veteran for more than four decades, he has covered wars, presidential campaigns, and other events around the world. His insights and talent as a news anchor and reporter have earned him every major broadcasting award, including multiple Emmy Awards, George Foster Peabody Awards, and Overseas Press Club Awards.
