Marc Quinn talked to the broadcaster and critic Tim Marlow about recent work.19.06.2002 Artist Marc Quinn first gained notoriety with his work, Self (1991), a refrigerated cast of his own head made using nine pints of his own blood. Exhibited at the Saatchi Gallery and then as part of the Sensation exhibition, Self became a touchstone for a more committed kind of art of the body that was characteristic of British art in the 1990s. Since then, Quinn has remained pre-occupied with the ever-changing physical states of the body.
