Sylvan and Verona Beaches closed due to algae 7-7-11
Due to a thick layer of algae growing in the waters of Oneida Lake, swimming is suspended at Sylvan and Verona Beaches. Lifeguards say they’re unable to see beneath the surface of the water, and samples of the water are being sent to a lab for testing.
