Pre-Market Movers: March 4th, 2011
Equity futures are pointing to a flat open this morning as investors mulled over the government’s monthly payrolls report.The economy added 192,000 jobs in the month, roughly in line with expectations, as the unemployment rate ticked down to 8.9%.The Dow Jones Industrial Average looking to open near 15 points higher while the broader S&P500 index is looking to open close to two points higher. Moving fast in the pre-market session are shares of Radioshack (NYSE:RSH), up over 2.6%, looking to rebound after hitting a 52 week low yesterday. Also moving fast is Metro PCS (NYSE:PCS), up close to 2% after the company amended its $1.6 billion credit facility. Finally, shares of Massey Energy (NYSE:MEE) are down over 1.5%.In corporate news, Wal-Mart Stores Inc (NYSE:WMT) said its board of directors has approved a yearly dividend of $1.46 this year, up 21% from the $1.21 dividend paid out last year.Madison Square Garden, Inc. (NASDAQ:MSG) reported Q4 EPS of $0.42, slightly below consensus estimates of $0.43 per share. Revenues for the quarter were up 5% year-over-year, to $432 million, vs. consensus estimates of $435 million.
