Dangers lurk at America’s worst nuclear site
For the past 25 years, clean up has been trudging along at Hanford, Washington — site of America’s worst nuclear contamination. From 1943 to 1987, nine reactors created nuclear waste along the Columbia River. But a whistleblower says there are design flaws in the site's major waste treatment facility.
