Going to Carr’s Irish Pub in Paris, France
It is at 1, rue Mont Tabor. The métro stop is Tuileries. The ICE and ELAC people (civil engineers) meet here. You get very good value for your money here, people! It is a big, clean, gorgeous, charming old place with wonderful employees and the food is excellent. The portions are huge, so I would say ask if you can pay a supplement and two or even three people share a plate of food! I am serious! They are kind here and will not be offended if you ask! I had duck à l’orange here in May, 2010 and it was two enormous duck legs, cooked correctly, with a huge pile of super fresh green beans as only the French can do them, and potatoes too I think, and of course the bread and water are included. I was a guest but I think my dish was well, well under 25 euros. That may seem like a lot to you, but this is in one of the most posh and central nabes in Paris! You can stroll through the arcades on the rue de Rivoli nearby, enjoy the Tuileries gardens right there, there are tourist shops with silly tacky stuff, the River Seine is right there, you can go toward St Paul Le Marais and go to the Carnavelet Museum, which is free, and this is a lovely place I recommend. It is romantic and vibrant, though a tad noisy. The hotels near here looked interesting. The Renaissance is very pricey, but wow, it sure looks like class, and the other across the street is cheaper but still a lot at at least 200 euros per night. I know other places to stay and can guide you. Contact me at slobomotion@gmail
