University offers lessons in rare Asian languages
These are not your usual Spanish, French or German classes. Students at the University of Kansas now have the opportunity to learn some uncommon Asian languages. The East Asian Study Center and the East Asian Language and Culture Department offer classes in Uyghur and Tibetan. KU is the only university in the country to offer Uyghur during the regular academic semester.
