Scrums Liberal MP John McKay and NDP Foreign Affairs critic Paul Dewar spoke to reporters about McKay’s point of privilege that International Cooperation Minister Bev Oda misled the House on the funding decision for the aid group KAIROS and therefore breached parliamentary privilege. NDP Public Safety critic Don Davies discussed the cyber attacks that targeted computer systems at the Finance department, the Treasury Board and Defence Research and Development Canada, a civilian agency of the National Defence department Opposition leaders Michael Ignatieff, Gilles Duceppe and Jack Layton commented on various issues including the costs for the Conservatives’ crime bills, and the Bev Oda matter. NDP Citizenship and Immigration critic Olivia Chow responded to questions about the proposed changes to Canada’s immigration point system and the new citizen’s arrest bill.
